This course is designed for property owners wishing to learn a range of practical tasks associated with the handling, breeding and caring for cattle on the farm.

Course aim:

Provide information to new farm holders on the basics of caring, feeding and the handling of cattle , drenching, vaccinating etc. Provide some skills in understanding the market, breeding and selection of cattle. General husbandry operations, NLIS. Advise on yard designs.

Course details:

  • ability at a basic level to assess cattle, understand breeding and their traits and marketing requirements
  • routine cattle care and disease issues, feeding, drenching, vaccinating, NLIS etc
