This course suits experienced beekeepers with a thorough knowledge of pests and diseases of honey bees.  It will be of particular interest to beekeepers wanting to enter the queen bee industry.

Course aims:

  • develop an understanding of queen bee production
  • develop and demonstrate the skills to produce quality queen bees

Learning outcomes:

  • graft queen cells with correct age larvae
  • raise quality queen bees
  • implement a queen breeding program

Each participant receives the Queen Bee Breeding AgGuide and grafting kit. This course is delivered using both indoor and outdoor instruction.
