Do you dream of a career that’s not just a job? Imagine catching the day’s sunrise as enter the shearing shed; perhaps you’d prefer an ‘office’ view that includes animals over traffic.
RIST students are encouraged to participate in wool handling competitions in Australia and New Zealand, and in recent years our students have had success in these competitions.
Students who successfully complete their Certificate III in Wool Clip Preparation are eligible for an Owner Classer Registration which will allow them to class wool on their own property. On satisfactory completion of this course you may then wish to undertake a Certificate IV in Wool Classing. Students undertaking this course, as a standalone or as a Traineeship, will undertake 12 units.

Students must have access to a working woolshed.
