The Master’s by research degree requires you to deepen your knowledge of your discipline area and develop advanced skills in the conduct of independent and sustained research. As a Master’s by research candidate, you will undertake a supervised research project that culminates in the submission of a thesis for examination.
Areas of study include: biochemistry, botany, chemistry, computer science and computer engineering, electronics, environmental management and ecology (Albury-Wodonga only), environmental science, genetics, mathematics, microbiology, physics, psychology, statistical science and zoology.
Upon completion of your candidature, you must demonstrate through your thesis that you have an advanced and integrated understanding of a complex body of knowledge in one or more disciplines.
Depending on the area of research, graduates of the Master of Science may apply for membership with relevant professional bodies. Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
Units Of Study:
Environmental Management and Ecology is offered at the Albury-Wodonga Campus.Pharmacy is offered at the Bendigo Campus. All other major areas of study are offered at the Bundoora Campus.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Honours degree in a relevant discipline with a H2A result, or equivalent.
- Applicants with H2B results or equivalent may be considered in some instances.
