Rural Bank’s 2021 Scholarship Program will open Tuesday 1 December.
Rural Bank has an ongoing focus on supporting youth in agriculture by providing financial support in the form of scholarships to first-time undergraduate students. Scholarship recipients will have chosen agricultural or agribusiness courses which will enable them to contribute to the Australian agricultural industry in rural and regional communities.
Our scholarships aim to assist outstanding but disadvantaged students from a rural or regional area, who have been offered a full-time place at an Australian university, college or TAFE for the first time in 2021.
The Scholarship award value is $5,000 per year for maximum of two years / or for the duration of the successful recipient’s course (up to a maximum of 2 years, whichever is the lesser), subject to the criteria set out below and satisfactory academic performance in the first year of study.
The funding aims to support study-related expenses covering such things accommodation costs, course costs, study-related materials/equipment, textbooks, tutoring and /or education related travel (within Australia).
You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident from a rural or regional location;
You will be a first-time, first year undergraduate in 2021 - this is your first attendance at university/college;
You will be studying an agribusiness related bachelor degree or qualification, in approved Australian course, that will enable you to contribute to the Australian agribusiness sector; at an Australian university or college campus;
You graduated from secondary school in either 2020 or in 2019 (you took a gap year);
You can demonstrate the disadvantage (economic &/or social) hindering your ability to undertake tertiary education; and
You can demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and extensive community involvement.
