  • For Australia, the April to June rainfall outlook, issued 28 March 2019, shows no strong indication either way towards a wetter or drier than average three months ahead.
  • Recent warming in the tropical Pacific Ocean and model outlooks suggest there is an increased chance of El Niño developing during autumn. However, the Bureau’s model suggests that any El Niño is likely to be weak and short-lived, and is unlikely to have a significant effect on the rainfall patterns for April to June.
