Haricot Beans

New Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research

Yield components of haricot beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) grown at different plant densities.

This 9-page document presents the argument for the possibility of developing the haricot bean growing industry in New Zealand in 2012. It looks at the yields of various cultivars trialed in plots at three different spacings:  9inch, 18inch, and 36inch.

Important characteristics were recorded such as flowering date, growth habit (vine or bush), the number of seeds per ounce, and the seed size for canneries.
