An overview of products for remote Australia

What is the problem?

To help overcome the challenges posed to beef producers in remote Australia, new ideas and technologies should be embracing in order to help improve beef cattle businesses. This paper reviews and compares sixty technologies of practical relevance to beef producers. All products discussed aim to improve the management and operation of beef production properties.

What were the key findings?

Sixty technology products were categorised into three categories:

Collectively, these products can be used to help monitor pasture and cattle performance, measure pasture and herd productivity, map the property, manage data collected for either pasture or cattle performance, or remotely manage cattle. All technologies listed within this paper are individually summarised to allow readers to easily see the type of features, costs, requirements associated with the use of a given technology.
