Different wheat varieties will achieve different yields depending on the sowing time. There are typically 3 types of variety response to sowing time:

  • higher yield when sown early (negative slope)
  • higher yield when sown late (positive slope)
  • similar yield over all sowing times (flat slope).

This document is designed for producers to make better informed planting decisions by illustrating the response of wheat varieties to sowing time.
