SUMMARY:TropAg International Agriculture Conference 2025
DESCRIPTION:The TropAg 2025 program will focus on “Addressing Global Challenges” by featuring leading Australian and international voices who are actively engaged in advancing research and raising awareness of the many challenges in the diverse field of agriculture and food production. \nTo be held at Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre\, this is the 5th TropAg Conference. It has developed an internationally recognised brand and frequently attracts participants from over 40 countries. It is an opportunity to engage with leading scientific experts\, industry leaders\, researchers\, producers\, and government representatives on topics relevant to subtropical and tropical production systems and innovative food and beverage manufacturing. \nOver three days\, the program will feature six keynote speakers: Prof Glenn Denning\, Dr Carlos Messina\, Dr Anita Molesworth\, Prof Lindiwe Sibanda\, Dr Sean Leighton\, and A/Prof Seeseei Molimau Samasoni. In addition\, there will be 27 symposium sessions with over 100 speakers\, delivered within three themed streams: Future Foods\, Growing Agriculture\, and Climate + Sustainability. \nEarly bird registration available until 1 September 2025. \nFor partnership opportunities and for more information\, visit the TropAg website. \nView the event flyer (PDF). \nView the partnership and exhibition opportunities (PDF).

SUMMARY:Webinar: Working Towards Net Zero Agriculture
DESCRIPTION:Farmers face real challenges and opportunities in reducing emissions while staying productive. \nJoin us for a practical webinar where you’ll learn: \nHow the Pathfinder tool (developed by CSIRO + Clean Energy Finance Council) works and what it can do for your farm – from fertiliser optimisation to methane-reducing pasture species. \nAccording to CSIRO: Pathfinder is a practical\, evidence-based resource detailing both known and emerging methods to reduce on-farm emissions across broadacre and livestock. It equips farmers with support and strategies to adopt lower-emissions options\, and adjust activities that are essential to on-farm practice\, including: \n\nVariable rate (VR) technologies:optimising fertiliser and lime application by combining paddock spatial variability with GPS technology and VR input controllers to improve yield\, soil quality and reduce costs\nPasture rejuvenation: using certain legume and herb species\, which can help reduce livestock methane emissions\, and fertility as well as improve forage quality\, feed efficiency and soil condition\nPermanent plantings: sequestering carbon while providing windbreaks\, shade and shelter for livestock\, and habitat for native animals and birds\nFeed supplements:Incorporating methane-reducing feed additives\, such as asparagopsis seaweed\, to lower livestock methane emissions while maintaining animal health and productivity.\nHow to access green and sustainable finance options to implement climate-smart practices on farm.
