Climate change is having a profound effect on pastoralism in Australia. The arid and semi-arid rangelands are among the most volatile climates in the world, and climate change is exacerbating these conditions. This has led to increased droughts and floods, which have had a devastating effect on pastoral enterprises.

Pastoralists are skilled in dealing with these conditions, and this experience will position them well for a future where droughts and floods occur with increasing frequency.
