The Grassland Society of Southern Australia Inc. provides a forum for the transfer of information, ideas and experiences in relation to all aspects of grassland establishment, maintenance, utilisation, persistence and research. The Society was formed in 1959 with a membership of 250 by the close of the year. Since those early days, the membership has grown to around 500 with eight branches. Central administrative functions are provided to the central committee and branches by a paid Secretary.
