AUS: Networks to Build Drought Resilience

Networks to Build Drought Resilience program is designed to support training and networking events and foster projects that encourage connectedness for agricultural communities across Australia.

The program will be delivered nationally by a provider with experience in managing projects that develop community networking and connectedness.

The successful provider will deliver a program that supports ongoing community networking and social development activities, including training of social network members, small-scale community infrastructure projects that improve community meeting places, and hosting community-rated events that strengthen networking capacity and engagement throughout agriculture-dependent communities.

To be eligible to apply for the $3.75 million in funding, proposals must:

  • Demonstrate capacity and capability to lead and coordinate the delivery of the program’s activities nationally in agriculture-dependent communities
  • Demonstrate experience managing grants programs, including the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across agriculture-dependent communities
  • Demonstrate a national presence and ability to address regional needs in agriculture-dependent communities across Australia.

Key Criteria:

To be eligible you must be a legal entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN), have an account with an Australian financial institution and be capable of entering into a legally binding and enforceable Agreement with the Commonwealth. For example:

  • an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisation, council or incorporated association
  • Company
  • Cooperative
  • Incorporated Association
  • Sole Trader
  • Partnership
  • Trustee on behalf of a Trust.
