Kids to Ag aims to increase primary school students’ understanding of where their food and fibre comes from and to raise awareness of the career opportunities within the agricultural sector. Grants are available for primary school students to support visits to primary production sites and farms across Victoria – providing students with hands-on, practical experiences in agriculture.
The Victorian Farmers Federation is encouraging primary schools to consider the wide range of opportunities to engage with the agriculture sector. Examples of funding opportunities could be a visit to a farm, or perhaps a series of experiences along an entire supply chain, e.g. following a crop to an end food product, or a sheep to an article of clothing.
