The Northern Territory Horticultural Netting Program (Program) is a joint initiative supported by the Northern Territory and Australian Governments to support the delivery of funds to primary producers of commercial horticultural crops to purchase and install horticultural netting with the aim of increasing crop productivity.
Netting delivers protects crops from extreme weather and pests and increases water use efficiency and helps growers meet the standards demanded by commercial markets. The use of netting also helps ensure continuity of supply and increases the climate resilience of the Northern Territory’s horticultural industry.
You can apply if you:
- are registered with the Australian Taxation Office as a primary production business and have an Australian business number
- are a property owner, share farmer or lease holder in the horticulture industry in the NT
- buy and install protective netting over existing commercial horticulture produce
- earn more than 50% of your total income from primary productions
