Co-operative & Collaborative Farming
The multi-award winning Farming Together Program (FTP) aims to bring together the best information, templates, tools and resources available to help farmers, fishers and foresters develop successful and sustainable collaborative businesses.
Working with 30 000 farmers across the country, the FTP has co-developed and compiled a suite of practical and accessible resources. These resources are now available on The Farm Table as well as the FTP website: www.farmingtogether.com.au to ensure the ongoing and free access of these resources to as many farmers, fishers and foresters as possible now and into the future.
There are over 200 resources dedicated for you to explore, and the hub is always growing! From business template plans to case study examples, you’ll find everything you need to know about starting and growing your collaborative business. We hope you enjoy this Farming Hub.
What is collaborative business?
Collaborative business involves two or more separate businesses with a shared goal working together to achieve more than they could on their own. By sharing resources, knowledge, skills and / or equipment, farming businesses working collaboratively can build resilience, increase their competitive advantage, and achieve economies of scale or better market access. Collaborative business can take many different forms and structures. A cooperative is a well-known example of a collaborative business structure. A cooperative is a member-owned democratically run business with its own legal identity. It is a business that is driven by shared values not just profit, and is run by and for its members to realise members’ shared goals.
We invite you to explore the possibilities of collaborative farming!
