Overview

South Australian producers can apply for a rebate on the costs of equipment needed to conduct and report property to property (P2P) movements under the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS).

Eligible producers can apply for up to 75% of the cost of essential equipment. The rebate amount is determined by the average head movement to your property directly from another property (P2P) over a consecutive 3-year period, either:

  • calendar years (2021,2022, 2023 or 2022, 2023, 2024)
  • financial years (2021–22, 2022–23, 2023–24, 2024-25)
  • immediate past 3 years.

Based on the average count, you can apply for:

  • up to $500 for 100 or fewer animals annually
  • up to $2,000 for 101 to 5,000 animals annually
  • up to $20,000 for more than 5,000 animals annually.
