Join Agribusiness Australia for the Food Security Summit, bringing together senior leaders from across the sector to explore how Australia can strengthen national food security while remaining competitive and connected to global markets.
The Summit will share the progress of Agribusiness Australiaâs food security work to date, engage industry leaders in the next phase of this important conversation, and introduce proposed themes for 2027.
Ian Proudfoot, Global Head of Agribusiness for KPMG International, will deliver a keynote address on âPathways Towards Secure, Resilient Global Food Systems.â
Andrew Henderson and Dr John Coyne will then present key insights from the past yearâs Harvesting Insight, Building Resilience: CEO Roundtables for National Food Security Preparedness, highlighting the priorities and perspectives emerging from leaders across Australiaâs food and agribusiness sectors.
The program will culminate in a CEO panel discussion, âTrade Openness vs Sovereign Resilience,â featuring:
- Adrian Capogreco, Managing Director, Nutrien Ag Solutions
- Kristina Hermanson, Chief Executive Officer, Select Harvests
- Esther Brown, Senior Director, Sodali & Co
- Harvey Gaynor, Chief Executive Officer, Harvest Road
Australiaâs prosperity has long been built on open markets and international trade. However, geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, climate events and changing global alliances are reshaping how nations approach food security.
The panel will examine how Australia can maintain its position as a trusted, export focused agricultural nation while building the sovereign capability needed to protect critical food production, processing and distribution. Discussion will explore the investments, policy settings and industry collaboration required to strengthen resilience, prepare for future disruptions and continue competing successfully in global markets.
The Summit will open with a welcome from Agribusiness Australia Chair Dave McKeon and provide an important opportunity to connect with industry leaders, exchange practical insights and contribute to the future direction of Australiaâs food security agenda.
