Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS)
Free financial counselling for farmers, fishers, foresters, harvesters, and small related businesses experiencing, or at risk of, financial hardship
Rural financial counsellors are qualified professionals who will listen to your problems, look at your situation and provide tailored support to you.
In collaboration, they will help you develop an action plan and step-by-step process to get you out of financial difficulty. You will also build your financial knowledge, skills and resilience so you can confidently manage potential challenges in the future.
Counsellors will guide you through the process while you remain in control of the decision-making.
Rural financial counsellors do not give advice relating to agribusiness, law, family issues, mental health or financial advice, but can refer you to other professional services as part of their holistic approach/service.
Rural financial counsellors are located in twelve RFCS service regions across Australia. The RFCS counsellors help primary producers and related small businesses to understand their financial position, identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop and implement plans to improve their financial situation.
