Independent and Standardized Variety Evaluation
The NVT arose from a need for standardized, independent variety evaluation following the shift from public to private breeding programs. Before the NVT, different breeders presented results in varying ways, making comparisons difficult. The NVT provides a consistent, trusted approach for growers. The program conducts over 650 trials annually across more than 300 locations, amassing over 1.5 million plot points in its database.
