Farm Business Transition Program

The Australian Government is now welcoming applications from sheep producers for Round 2 of the competitive Farm Business Transition Program.

Through this program, producers can access grants of up to $75,000 (GST exclusive) across both rounds per eligible applicant to help re-shape and future-proof their businesses. Funding can support a wide range of transition activities, including:

• Business and transition planning
• Professional and technical advice
• Applying new research and development innovations
• Extension and capability-building activities
• Investment in on-farm infrastructure and improvements

All funded activities must help you adopt alternative farming systems and practices that strengthen the long-term resilience and profitability of your enterprise.

To receive funding, applicants must:

• Provide a 1:1 cash co‑contribution, matching the grant amount dollar for dollar
• Note that in‑kind contributions are not accepted as matched funding
• Ensure that costs incurred before the grant agreement is executed or the agreed activity start date are not eligible for reimbursement
