SkyKelpie

SkyKelpie was founded in 2022 by fourth-generation Queensland grazier and Nuffield Scholar, Luke Chaplain, SkyKelpie has conducted groundbreaking trials with support from Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF). These trials have validated the numerous benefits of drone use in mustering, including reduced operational costs, minimized fuel consumption, and a lower environmental footprint.
SkyKelpie’s innovative approach allows graziers to track, monitor, and guide livestock with precision, offering a low-stress, sustainable alternative to traditional mustering methods. The technology not only improves animal welfare but also enhances the safety of farm personnel by reducing reliance on helicopters and ground vehicles.
To equip livestock handlers with the necessary skills to effectively implement drone mustering, SkyKelpie offers an Aerial Stockmanship Course. This comprehensive program delves into animal behavior, low-stress handling techniques, and the integration of drone technology into livestock management practices. Complementing this, the SkyKelpie Simulator provides an immersive virtual training environment where users can master drone mustering techniques before applying them in real-world scenarios.
By pioneering these advancements, SkyKelpie is leading the charge in modern, eco-friendly livestock management, empowering graziers with the tools and knowledge to embrace the future of agriculture.
