Topcon recently introduced its Value Line Steering solution specifically designed for farmers using mid-range tractors on small to medium-sized farms. The Value Line Steering solution includes a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver, electric steering wheel controller, touchscreen console, and Horizon Lite software, compatible with front-wheel-steer tractors. What makes this technology particularly transformative is its ability to deliver high-end steering precision at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems. Farmers can retrofit older tractors—even machines with over 9,000 hours of use—to operate with sub-5 cm accuracy, a capability once limited to newer, more expensive equipment. As Aaron Freeman, a fourth-generation farmer, shared: “I didn’t think you could get a 35-year-old tractor with 9,500 hours on it to steer with this level of precision—but now it’s possible. It’s a game-changer for maximising the value of all farm equipment”.
